The pressure builds, layer after layer I need to find something and break it I hate what I have become An addict to my own self pity I'm tired of breaking down And loosing my composure Break the cycle, instead of yourself That's what she'd have said I hate what I have become Well maybe I just need your long hair to get lost in, tangled up in To help me better myself To help me rescue us I wish there was a way to show you how much I appreciate you putting up with my shit
2.
You mistook the roof above my head, confusing it with my home In fact the clavicle in your bed was the only home I've known My ears ache to hear the cadence of your voice My calloused fingers clenched around something that you left Our bed Intimate adventures, well spent A plateau to great for me alone I'd rather choose the ground I don't want to wake up I don't want to wake up anymore

about

"People Leave" is a dramatic ballad that speaks on relationships and how it can be hard to see moving on as an option. The vocals are powerful and mournful, speaking of trying to recover whilst battling emotions of regret and self pity. The instrumentation reinforces these poignant lyrics with a large variance in dynamics throughout, with a slower, calmer mid section leading to an explosive finish. The vocals drop out some time before the ending of the song, allowing the instruments to continue show how rathe emotion is, striking out the same chords and riffs before closing on one last forlorn note.

Paired with this single is a b-side that focuses more on the aura of acceptance and finding comfort in suffering and heartache. "Intimate Adventures, Well Spent" savers as a sombre counterpart to the themes of the single, whilst staying true to the bands honesty on hardships and co-dependance.
